Oscar Aldred specialises in landscape archaeology. His PhD was on the archaeology of movement at the University of Iceland. He is currently working for the Cambridge Archaeological Unit at the University of Cambridge, and was previously the aerial and remote sensing mapping manager at Historic Environment Scotland. He is also a Visiting Fellow at the McCord Centre for Landscape, Newcastle University. He has been associated with, amongst others, the University of Cambridge, Brown University, and the Institute of Anthropological and Spatial Studies at the Research Centre of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts. He worked for the University of Newcastle, the Institute of Archaeology, Iceland, Somerset County Council, and several archaeological units in the UK. His passions are walking and maps.
